He told him it was a serious offence "particularly due to the risks of the public being duped."The judge also ordered seized items be destroyed and a Proceeds of Crime Act confiscation investigation take place.Trading Standards investigations discovered Yardley was advertising the sale of various items from well known, trademarked brands such as Nike, Timberland and Calvin Klein.Numerous counterfeit items were seized from his property in February 2008, including branded clothing and footwear along with packaged items ready for posting. Information gathered on Yardley's trading activities revealed he worked extensively under different accounts and in less than one year, he had sold more than 1,000 items with a total sales revenue in excess of Solihull Council's cabinet member for safer communities, Councillor Diana Holl Allen today urged consumers to be vigilant and to take care when using internet auction sites."Counterfeit items such as these are often sub standard quality for consumers and the selling of them also undermines our legitimate local businesses," she said.
